Whew what a weekend! We started Saturday morning with a trip to U of H, now I might be a little biased to Tech...but I was not impressed :) I miss my Red & Black!
We then (mistakenly) ventured into Ikea....you DO NOT go to Ikea on a Saturday unless you have at least an hour to spare, a GPS, and lots and lots of patience for other people. The aisle were a HUGE maze, you could not cut across the store to leave you had to go around the entire store. After being in the store for 30 minutes we were getting restless, I found a map (yes, seriously) and we discovered the we were only 3/4 of the way through the upstairs. We finally made it back to the car and couldnt have been happier. Then, apparently we hadn't punished ourselves enough so we decided to go to 3 other furniture stores to browse around.
Sunday afternoon was spent deep deep cleaning. Jacob and I had each noticed some things around the house, black hair, gravel like "rocks" in the office, and the smell.....well we put it all together and decided the people before us had cats. Well if you know me, you know I STRONGLY DISLIKE cats, so the thought gave me the heeby-jeebyz We went to the grocery store and bought the carpet deodorizing powder and spent the next 5 hours (not exaggerating) vacuuming very very slowly and thoroughly. We have a super neat feature on our vacuum that tells you when its sucking up dirt and it says Dirty when there is no more dirt to suck up it says clean. There were parts of our carpet that went extremly slow because we had to go over and over and over it till the vacuum said clean. There was also this long dark streak down the hallway, we had thought it was a shadow. Jacob was wiping down the walls and it was a LONG grease spot from where (presumably) the cat would rub along the wall as it walked down the hall. ICK!! We had to pay a $500 pet deposit and Cheetah isn't even an inside dog. I want to know where there 500 went, it definitely didn't go towards cleaning.
Everything is cleaner now and I feel a little better.
